General Kunle Togun (ret. ), the head of the Oyo State Western Nigerian Security Network, code-named Amotekun, has threatened to employ deadly snakes and bees to target the state’s and region’s robbers.
Togun called on the federal government to permit members of the organisation to use AK-47s and other common weapons to combat banditry in the Southwestern states while delivering a lecture at the special Oke-Ogun Development Consultative Forum (ODCF) meeting held over the weekend in Otu Township Hall, Otu, Itesiwaju local government area of the state.
The enormous geographical area that is close to foreign borders and the body of dense woodland where they could hide and assault the population, especially in the Oke-Ogun region, made Oyo State, according to him, the number one target of international bandits.
Togun stated, “We all know that President Buhari supports these people, which is why they were permitted to enter Nigeria and every part of the country without limitation during the COVID-19 worldwide restriction.

“These people were coming to Oke-Ogun in trailers and some of our traditional rulers allowed this in their domains despite the fact that people took pictures and videos which they posted online, we will not stop talking about it.
”For us to maintain peace and keep these bandits away we will resort to the use of bees and poisonous snakes, I have traveled as far as ‘Ibariba’ area to see great hunters on this, this can even change the perspective of warfare in the world, instead of physical weaponry, let us use wild animals for once.”
