The National Executive Council of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has given Senator Iyorchia Ayu a vote of confidence, indicating that he would not be stepping down anytime soon.
Ayu has been in the headlines for a few weeks due to a dispute he had with Nyesom Wike, the governor of Rivers state.
Sen. Walid Jibrin, the head of the Board of Trustees, announced his resignation on Thursday during the NEC meeting. This allowed former Senate President Adolphus Wabara (from the South-East) to take over as the new BoT Chairman.
Ndudi Elumelu, the minority leader in the House of Representatives, made an appeal in his speech for all party members who felt wronged to forgive one another regardless of what had happened in the past.

He asserts that the devil is attempting to split the group because the party has won the 2023 election in the spiritual sphere.
He said: “The adversary is trying to split us because he knows we have won the 2023 election in the spiritual realm.”
