Abike Dabiri-Erewa, Chairperson of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, NIDCOM, has disclosed why Nigerian visitors to Dubai are being turned back despite holding valid visas.
Recall that some Nigerians who recently travelled to Dubai were arrested at the airport and had their passports confiscated. Few were spotted seeking answers after their passports were illegally confiscated.
“What the Dubai authorities have done is make visa procedures more stringent. There is no visa for anyone under the age of 30; it is extremely tough. They make it so strict that no matter who you are, you will not be able to fulfil it.
“Secondly, if you are travelling to Dubai right now, you must produce a six-month bank statement, your ticket, and proof of where you are going to stay. “If you lie about where you’re going to stay, they’ll find out, and they’ll turn you back,” Dabiri-Erewa said during an appearance on Arise Tv.
She urged Nigerians to quit slandering their country.
