Isaac Fayose, the younger sibling of former Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose, claimed that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) was destroyed in 2014 by Atiku Abubakar, who was the party’s presidential candidate.
On Saturday, August 27, 2022 Fayose posted a message on his well-known Facebook page that read, “Atiku Abubakar returned to bury PDP after crushing the party in 2014.”
Atiku was a part of the All Progressives Congress in 2014, which was in opposition (APC).
In announcing his departure from the APC in 2017, the former vice president claimed that the party “had failed and continues to fail our people.” He also charged the party of being arbitrary, violating the constitution, and showing contempt for party leaders.
A brutal policy of clampdowns on all forms of democracy within the party and the administration it created was instituted, he further blasted the fold for.
Since his political debut in 1989, Atiku has run unsuccessfully for president of Nigeria five times: in 1993, 2007, 2011, 2015, and 2019.
