The director-general of the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential campaign council has been named as Plateau governor Simon Lalong.
The APC national chairman, Abdullahi Adamu, made the announcement on Thursday while addressing the media following a meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari.
The APC candidates for president and vice president, Bola Tinubu and Kashim Shettima, were also present at the meeting.
Festus Keyamo, the state minister of labor and employment, will act as the presidential campaign council’s “interim spokesperson,” according to Adamu.
The controversy surrounding the same faith ticket put forth by the ruling party for the presidential election may not be unrelated to the selection of Lalong, a Christian.
