One million adherents of the Indigenous People of Biafra, or IPOB, according to former presidential adviser Reno Omokri, cannot overthrow Sam Omatseye, a well-known columnist.
This was said by the sociopolitical pundit in response to the purported death threat made against Omatseye.
Following his column on Peter Obi, the presidential candidate for the Labour Party (LP), headlined Obi-tuary, Omatseye claimed to have received threats to his life.
The seasoned journalist has labeled Obi as a haven for criminals.
He had said: “Obi has turned out to be an excuse for even closet Biafrans, to betray open emotions about Biafra, without being accused of it.”
After the article was published, Omatseye said that the Obidients, also known as Obi’s supporters, had threatened his life.
In response to the threat, Omokri stated that IPOB members cannot overthrow Omatseye.
In a tweet, Omokri wrote: “Sam Omatseye is one of the most intelligent men in Nigeria. We belong to different political camps, but he is a near-genius with the pen. A million IPOB mob can’t bring him down!
“May God protect Sam and his family from these disguised IPOB mobs. In Christ’s Name!
“You say you are not IPOB. Look at what you are doing to Sam Omatseye. Is it not exactly the same IPOB strategies you used on me?”
