Plateau Governor Simon Lalong described the assault on Danda Chugwi in Jos South Local Government as a ploy to foment strife.
The governor condemned the tragedy, which resulted in some deaths and injuries, in a speech on Monday.
Lalong ordered the security forces to detain and prosecute the perpetrators of the attacks in accordance with the law.
“Security agencies including the Police, Operation Safe Haven, DSS, Operation Rainbow, have been tasked to work with the local intelligence and ensure that those behind this wicked act are fished out,” he said
He expressed sympathy to the families who had been impacted and instructed the State Emergency Management Agency and the Plateau Peace Building Agency to make sure that the afflicted people and the community received prompt aid.
In order to expose criminals, the governor urged citizens to work with law enforcement, traditional institutions, community leaders, and other community security structures.
