Following a boat accident involving a security surveillance team along the Korokorosei waterways in the Niger-Delta region, one policeman is reportedly dead and three others are still missing.
According to information obtained by ThisNigeria, the event took place on July 25, 2022, at around 02:00 when a boat carrying police officers on a surveillance assignment crashed in the Korokorosei waterways in the Southern Ijaw Local Government Area of Bayelsa.
According to security sources, one of the policemen’s lifeless body has now been found, but the other three remain missing.
According to reports, local divers had been sent to the region in case the missing people may be saved.
It was learned that the police leadership has not yet determined the details of the terrible incident.
As of the time this story was filed, DSP Bright Edafe, the police public relations officer (PPRO) for Delta State Command, could not be reached for comment on the incident.
