According to social political activist Deji Adeyanju, Peter Obi of the Labour Party (LP), who is running for president, is neither perfect nor above corruption.
Adeyanju explained his decision to cease supporting Obi in a post uploaded on Twitter. He claimed that during their meeting, the former governor of Anambra Public discussed putting billions of state dollars in his family business.
Adeyanju claimed that Obi attempted to defend the use of the funds and other statements he made, but he was unhappy with them.
Despite insisting that Peter Obi is not a saint since he is corrupt like other candidates, he acknowledged that he is the best candidate among those who have declared to run for the presidency.
He said: “The real reason I stopped supporting Peter Obi was after I met him for a 3hrs meeting at his instance of course & he told me he invested billions of Anambra State funds into his family business. And the man was even trying to justify it. So many other things he said. SMH!
“I agree that Peter Obi is the best candidate among those who have declared, especially with his cutting of cost theory, but he’s no saint. He’s as corrupt as the others. Investing Anambra money into his family business is the height of corruption and abuse of office.”
