On Saturday, Nyesom Wike, the governor of Rivers State, broke his quiet about the PDP’s internal issue.
Using his official Twitter account @GovWike, Wike posted that he will discuss current events in the party.
He said, “On Atiku, I will speak soon and Nigerians will know the actual truth of all that has transpired in the PDP in recent times.”

Recall that Wike participated in the PDP presidential primaries but lost to Atiku. As a result, Wike was passed over for the vice presidential nomination as well.
The governor of Rivers State remained quiet over what has happened afterwards, but some of his allies and colleagues, notably Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State, have publicly stated that Wike is upset with the PDP leadership because he feels duped.
Additionally, they insisted that Wike receive an apology from Atiku and the PDP.
According to Ortom, the disgruntled governors have decided to stay in the main opposition party despite rumors that Wike, Ortom, and others may leave the PDP over the saga of what happened at the party’s presidential primaries.
However, he urged Atiku to make peace with Governor Wike by getting in touch with him.
Ortom pointed out that Wike is a significant player who persisted in the PDP after he and Atiku defected to the APC (APC).
The governor of Benue State said that there is still time to end the PDP’s conflict.
