Olusegun Obasanjo, a former president of Nigeria and distinguished elder statesman, has urged young people to assume power in 2023.
On Saturday, Obasanjo remarked that if young people wait until tomorrow, it might already be too late and that tomorrow might not come.
He continued by warning that some politicians would ruin the nation if young people did not act soon.
Obasanjo urged them and said that now is the time for them to take action.
This decision was announced by the former president on Saturday during a special interview with Segun Odegbami, a former Super Eagles player, on his Eagles7 Sports 103.7 FM, Abeokuta station.
Obasanjo speaking ahead of the 2023 general election said, “My advice for Nigerian youths is, never let anybody tell you that you are the leaders of tomorrow. If you wait for tomorrow before you take over leadership, that tomorrow may not come. They will destroy it.
“This is the time, youths get up and make it happen.”
