In preparation for the 2023 presidential election, Omoyele Sowore, the presidential candidate of the African Action Congress, on Thursday listed the “godfathers” of Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party.
In a tweet on his Twitter account, the editor of the Sahara Reporters asserted that Obi’s supporters are the same ones who destroyed Nigeria.
According to Sowore, the former governor of Anambra State has the support of three past heads of state.
He named Olusegun Obasanjo, Ibrahim Babangida, and Abdulsalam Abubakar as the three past heads of state.
Sowore added that Ango Abdullahi, the chairman of the Northern Elders Forum, and former national security adviser Aliyu Gusau back Obi’s bid for the presidency.
The AAC presidential contender prayed that he wouldn’t ever have to approach these people for support of his campaign.
Sowore labeled the individuals mentioned, including the former heads of state, as criminals.
The presidential candidate, in a post on his Twitter account, wrote, “Olusegun Obasanjo, Ibrahim Babangida, Aliyu Gusau, Abubakar Abdusalam, and Ango Abdullahi are Peter Obi’s ‘godfathers’ the people that ruined Nigeria are the ones fronting for him. May it never happen that we work with these criminals!”
