Burna Boy, an internationally recognized afrobeat performer and Grammy Award winner, debuted his much awaited sixth studio album, “Love Damini,” at midnight on Friday.
19 songs from the controversial musician’s most recent album are performed by both domestic and foreign artists, including Ed Sheeran, Victony, J Balvin, Blxst, J Hus, Kehlani, Ladysmith, and Black Mambazo.
The sixth studio album includes tracks that he had previously released, including as “Last Last,” which many assumed was written about his breakup with UK rapper Stefflon Don, and the club hit “kilometer.”
His highly regarded 2020 release “Twice As Tall,” which received the Grammy Award for Best Global Music Album in 2021, is followed by “Love Damini.”
Other studio albums by Burna Boy, also known as Odogwu, include “L.I.F.E,” “On a Spaceship,” “Outside,” the Grammy-nominated “African Giant,” and then the Grammy-winning “Twice as Tall.”
