After a terrorist attack on the prison on Tuesday night, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo went to the Kuje Custodial Centre (Prison) on Wednesday.
Terrorists reportedly broke into the prison to free their own comrades and other prisoners, according to InsightnaijaTV.
In a helicopter, Osinbajo arrived at the Kuje Custodial Center on Wednesday at around 3:35 p.m.
The Inspector General of Police, IGP Usman Baba Alkali, as well as other top government officials welcomed the Vice President.
Osinbajo was on the scene to assess the extent of the facility’s destruction by bombs and other weapons.
According to accounts, the terrorists broke into the building in order to free their prisoners.
According to a another allegation, at least 64 Boko Haram members managed to flee the facility on Tuesday night.
Remember that President Buhari stopped by the institution on Wednesday before leaving Nigeria.
President Buhari expressed dissatisfaction over how terrorists were able to carry out a risky attack on the Abuja prison complex Kuje.
The President questioned how the terrorists could plan and carry out such an attack when he visited the attacked facility with the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Boss Mustapha, and his chief of staff, Prof. Ibrahim Gambari.
