Joe Igbokwe, a leader in the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State, has criticized Peter Obi, the former governor of Anambra State and presidential candidate for the Labour Party, and questioned his eight years of work in the state.
Igbokwe claimed that Obi was an overrated contender for president.
He recalled a previous remark made by Obi in which he criticized the infrastructure-based economic stimulus plan of President Muhammadu Buhari.
You cannot utilize infrastructure to spur economic growth, according to the former governor of Anambra State. To combat poverty, you invest in the SME (Small, Medium Enterprises) sector and in education.
Igbokwe emphasized that the LP presidential candidate was “just a trader” after recalling the remark.
In his Facebook post, Igbokwe wrote, “Somebody who wants to be the President of Nigeria is telling you that infrastructure does not drive the economy in the 21st Century and you are taking that person seriously. Peter [Obi] is overrated in Nigeria. He is just a trader.
“Obiano built the Anambra International Airport, built the Awka flyover bridge. Which one did Mr Obi build in 8 years?”
