Senate Minority Leader, Philip Aduda on Thursday, June 23, 2022 led the leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the Senate to meet with Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike in Port Harcourt.
Senator Aduda who has been a long-time ally of Governor Wike led the PDP caucus on the visit two days after assuming leadership.
The meeting was held behind closed doors at the Rumuepirikom home of Governor Wike, in Ohio/Akpor Local Government Area of the state.
The visit of the Senators happened a few minutes after the former Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Elder Godsday Orubebe equally visited Governor Nyesom Wike at his residence and barely 24 hours after the visits by the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Mr. Peter Obi and Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Mohammed.
Obi and Mohammed’s separate visits were at the same venue (Wike’s private residence) and there was no media coverage of any of the visit.
In attendance were the Senate Minority Whip, Senator Chukwuka Utazi, Senate Deputy Minority Leader, Senator Shuaibu Lau, Senate Deputy Minority Leader, Senator Danjuma La’ah and Senator Barry Mpigi.
Governor Wike had in the past days received top political figures at his private residence in Port Harcourt.
Some of whom have visited the Rivers State Governor include the Presidential Candidate of the Labour Party, Mr. Peter Obi, Governors Dave Umahi of Ebonyi State, and Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State.
