The late gospel musician Osinachi Nwachukwu’s remains will be buried in Abia State on Saturday, June 25, 2022.
This was revealed on a poster that was seen by InsightnaijaTV and contained specifics of her burial procedures.
According to the flier, a praise night will be held in Michael Okpara Square in Enugu at 7 p.m. on Tuesday (today).
Osinachi, the singer of the hit song “Ekwueme,” died on April 8, 2022, amid claims that she was beaten to death by her children, family, and colleagues.
Peter Nwachukwu, her husband, said she died of lung cancer, however there are also claims that she died after being kicked in the chest by him.
Peter Nwachukwu has been charged by the Nigerian government for causing his wife’s death.
Under Sections 104 and 379 of the Administration of Criminal Justice Act 2015, Section 221 of the Penal Code, and the Violence Against Persons Prohibition Act, Peter Nwachukwu faces 23 counts, some of which verge on culpable homicide (VAPP).
The Federal Ministry of Justice filed the charges in the Federal Capital Territory High Court.
The High Court remanded Nwachukwu in Kuje Correctional Facility despite his denials of brutalizing Osinachi to death.
