Prof Charles Soludo, the governor of Anambra State, has ordered that all commercial drivers working within the state’s jurisdiction complete a biometric registration form.
This was stated in a statement signed by Mrs Louisa Ezeanya, Permanent Secretary Ministry of Transport, and made available to journalists in Awka, Anambra State’s capital, on June 16, 2022.
All operators of wheelbarrows, tricycles, shuttle and minibuses/semi-trucks, tippers, lorries, and heavy-duty trucks operating in the state are required to register, according to the statement.
The government has encouraged all owners and operators of commercial vehicles to follow the rules.
It further stated that biometric registration would begin on June 2, 2022, as per Governor Soludo’s decree, and that the state administration had begun the free revalidation and recertification of all private motor parks across the state.
