Nicholas Felix, an All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, has stood aside in favour of Vice President Yemi Osinbajo.
Felix, a pentecostal preacher located in the United States, declared his decision to resign during the ongoing presidential primaries at Eagles Square.
His decision to resign makes him the first presidential candidate to abandon his campaign for Osinbajo.
Godswill Akpabio, Ibikunle Amosun, Kayode Fayemi, Dimeji Bankole, Ajayi Borroffice, and Governor Abubakar Badaru have previously pulled out of the contest to succeed Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Ogbonnaya Onu, Pastor Tunde Bakare, Sani Yerima, Rotimi Amaechi, and Rochas Okorocha, on the other hand, had refused to resign for any aspirant.
Delegates will begin voting for the party’s flagbearer after the candidates have finished their speeches, according to this online publication.
The Special Convention is now being witnessed by President Muhammadu Buhari, First Lady Aisha Buhari, and other dignitaries.
