Vice President Yemi Osinbajo says Nigeria needs President Muhammadu Buhari’s government to stay in power, and that sticking to current policies will propel the country forward.
The number two citizen spoke during a courtesy visit to the palace of Muhammadu Iliyasu Bashar, the Emir of Gwandu and Chairman of the Kebbi State Traditional Rulers.
Buhari, he added, has an open and truthful personality.
“I believe strongly that the stage that our country is at, is one that requires continuity of the sort that will enable us achieve great results,” a statement by the vice president media aide Laolu Akande, quoted him to have said.
Speaking further, Osinbajo said, “I’ve served as vice president for the past seven years under the able leadership of President Muhammadu Buhari. During that seven-year period, I have had the unique opportunity to work with an open and transparent president.
“My experience is crucial, especially in governing a country of our size. This is why I decided to put myself forward to serve as president,” the vice president added.
