Paul Pogba, a Manchester United midfielder, has admitted that he suffered from depression between 2016 and 2018 during Jose Mourinho’s management at Old Trafford.
Pogba, who is in the final year of his contract with Man United, said this when discussing the mental hurdles that professional athletes undergo.
“I’ve had depression in my career, but we don’t talk about it,” the 29-year-old France international told French tabloid Le Figaro (as cited by ESPN). You don’t know who you are sometimes, and all you want to do is isolate yourself and be alone. These are undeniable indicators.
“Personally, it started when I was with Jose Mourinho at United. You ask yourself questions, you wonder if you are at fault because you have never experienced these moments in your life.”
Pogba said his World Cup winner’s medal was among the valuables stolen during a recent theft at his residence, InsightnaijaTV reports
Pogba spoke of his family’s “worst nightmare” last week, when his home was broken into while his children were sleeping in their bedroom.
