Maduka Okoye, the Super Eagles’ goalkeeper, will miss Nigeria’s FIFA 2022 World Cup playoff match against Ghana’s Black Stars.
Super Eagles announced the news on their Instagram account on Tuesday afternoon.
John Noble, Okoye’s replacement, was also confirmed by the National Team.
The post reads, “Maduka Okoye out of the clash against Ghana due to illness, he has been replaced by Enyimba FC goalkeeper, John Noble. Get well soon Maduks! #soarsupereagles.”
At the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi, the Super Eagles will face Ghana in the opening leg of the World Cup playoff on Friday.
On Tuesday, the Nigerian national team will play Ghana in the second leg at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja.
