President Muhammadu Buhari declared on Tuesday that the Dangote Group, behind the federal government, is Nigeria’s second-largest employer of labor.
He addressed this in Lagos, where he commissioned the Dangote Fertiliser factory, which cost $2.5 billion and has a capacity of 3 million metric tonnes.
The facility, which is located in Ibeju Lekki, is spread out over 500 hectares.
Buhari stated at the occasion that the fertilizer company’s product was already being exported to other nations such as the United States, Mexico, India, and Brazil.
The president went on to say that Dangote Industries’ contributions have reaffirmed Nigeria’s leadership in Africa.
Alhaji Aliko Dangote, President of the Dangote Group, said in his welcome address that the plant being commissioned is Africa’s and the world’s largest granulated urea plant.
