Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi State stated on Tuesday that he will continue to govern the state despite the ruling of the Federal High Court in Abuja.
The Court had removed him (Umahi) and his Deputy, Dr. Kelechi Igwe, from office and ordered that they not parade themselves in the same manner in the future.
Governor Umahi briefed reporters in his office at the new Government House in Abakaliki, describing the ruling as “jungle justice that was purchased,” and noting that the ruling was not a good development for the judiciary.
Meanwhile, the court ordered no less than 16 members to abandon their seats following their defection from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
