Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, the former Arsenal captain, revealed what Mikel Arteta told him before he left the club on Tuesday.
After his contract with Arsenal was cancelled, the Gabonese striker joined Barcelona as a free agent in the January transfer market.
Following a disciplinary transgression that saw him dropped from the starting lineup, Aubameyang was stripped of his captaincy at the North London club.
In a 4-2 victory over Valencia on Sunday, the striker scored a hat-trick in his maiden league start.
While discussing about his move to Camp Nou, Aubameyang stated that Arteta wished him luck ahead of his arrival.
In an interview with Mundo Deportivo, the striker said, “Yes, Arteta wished me luck at Barca.
“Some of the things we did with Arteta are similar.
“I still have to get used to it but I am eager to learn. When I see how the boys play I want to do the same.”
