A billion vehicle transporting cash to a bank at Iwo Road in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State, was reportedly ambushed by armed thieves.
The armed robbers are believed to have struck at the Idi Ape Junction, where some vehicles had come to a halt due to a traffic light.
Some residents claimed the hoodlums stole the bullion van’s money, while others claimed the van was successfully kidnapped.
The incident, which some say claimed the lives of two police officers, occurred less than a kilometer from the Police Area Command at Testing Ground, according to reports.
Two police officers and a few innocent people were allegedly slain during the operation, but this could not be confirmed at the time of reporting this article.
