The foregoing aspect of the prediction has already been coming to pass even before the prediction was made as most members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) are yet to know who, between Tinubu and Osinbajo, they should throw their collective weight behind.
There is no denying the fact that not few Nigerians were woken to rude shock on January 30, 2022 as a result of the report conveyed to the reading public through Daily Post Newspaper’s publication of same date.
As gathered from the news report that was anchored on the headline, “2023: Tinubu, Osinbajo’ll fight each other, jeopardize Southwest chances – Primate Ayodele” and reported by Seun Opejobi, “… the leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, on Sunday released fresh warnings concerning the 2023 Presidential race in Nigeria.
“Primate Ayodele warned that the Presidential ambition of Bola Tinubu, National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC, and Vice President Yemi Osinbajo will jeopardize the chances of the Southwest.
“In a statement signed by his media aide, Osho Oluwatosin, Primate Ayodele said the ambition of the two political bigwigs will lead to a fallout between them. He explained that both APC stalwarts will fight each other.
“Although Tinubu is the only one who has declared his intention, there are indications that Osinbajo is nursing a similar ambition as the APC National leader but has not officially declared it.
The newspaper in the same vein reported that “However, the cleric called on the party leaders to immediately resolve the crisis between both chieftains as far as their political ambition is concerned.
‘’I foresee a fallout between the national leader of the All Progressive Congress, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo.
“This will happen due to the presidential ambition of both of them. It will lead to a fight between them if not well handled.
‘’Also, unless the party leaders make moves to settle the rift, their ambition will cost the South-West zone its chances in the 2023 presidential race. There will be confusion which will make South West lose what they don’t expect.”
At this juncture, it is expedient to say that before Ayodele’s prophecy was made available to Journalists that that there were already a rash of prophecies by persons who claim to be men of God, foretelling what will happen among aspiring politicians ahead of the 2023 general elections, and what will happen even during and after the election. While some of the prophecies are bizarre and clownish, others appear like mere conjecture, full of suppositions. Past experiences have shown that these ‘prophecies’ are largely false. But really, is it every man of God that has the gift to prophesy? The answer to the foregoing is “NO”.
Be that as it may, despite the skeptical disposition which not few Nigerians, particularly those outside the Christendom, faithlessly display towards prophets and their prophecies, permit this writer to say that Ayodele should be exempted from prophets of doom as his prophecies are reputed to have hit the bull’s eye more that they have gone off target. Despite complications and misunderstanding that some Nigerians now associate prophecy with and the seeming resentment they have for the Prophets among us, predicting with divine assurance is one of the most satisfying privileges that Elijah Babatunde Ayodele, a Primate and leader of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, in Lagos State, is known for.
Against the foregoing backdrop, it is expedient for both political gladiators; even from the same tribal extraction on Nigeria’s political landscape to come together and let Nigerians know where they stand as far the much expected 2023 general election is concerned.
Even without waiting for the prediction to come to pass, I will agree with the prophet that Tinubu and Osinbajo should streamline their ambitions even as the prophet has advised, ‘’Also, unless the party leaders make moves to settle the rift, their ambition will cost the South-West zone its chances in the 2023 presidential race. There will be confusion which will make South West lose what they don’t expect.”
The foregoing aspect of the prediction has already been coming to pass even before the prediction was made as most members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) are yet to know who, between Tinubu and Osinbajo, they should throw their collective weight behind.
To my view, I will concur with the prophet in his prediction that ’Also, unless the party leaders make moves to settle the rift, their ambition will cost the South-West zone its chances in the 2023 presidential race. There will be confusion which will make South West lose what they don’t expect.”
Without any scintilla of hyperbole, this prophecy that has now become the subject of opinion of this writer will not unarguably impress the supporters of both politicians, particularly as they are of the political party. However, it is expedient in this context to enlighten such supporters that no prophet has ever gotten 100% support from everyone. But a true prophet is bold enough to go against the standard. Primate Ayodele had in the past concured that when he releases his prophetic messages that challenge the status quo, some will disagree with him. He said that even Jesus, in his time, could not get one hundred percent support. Therefore, he says, a true prophet should not spend too much time listening to negative criticisms or engaging the critics.
While he accepts that criticism, most of the time, seeks to strengthen the mission and make a prophet a better messenger, he notes it can also undermine the mission and taint the messenger.
He once said, “I am carrying on a great mission and cannot go down listening to critics. Why should the work stop? Why should I leave what God has asked me to deliver because I am being attacked? I’m not trying to win the approval of people, but of God.
At this juncture, it is expedient to ask again, “Will Tinubu and Osinbajo truly fight each other as Prophet Ayodele predicted?” To me, only time will tell in a matter of months as our fingers are all crossed.
