Bisi Kolawole, Fayose’s appointed candidate, has emerged as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate in the June 18 governorship election in Ekiti state.
Kolawole, a former chairman of the PDP in Ekiti, defeated ex-governor Segun Oni and former deputy governor Kolapo Olusola.
On Wednesday, the Ado-Ekiti primary election was held.
Remember that Kolawole resigned from his position as Ekiti PDP chairman to run for governor.
Kolawole is a former state house of assembly member who represented the Efon constituency. Between 2015 and 2018, he was also the commissioner of the environment.
Fayose endorsed Kolawole for governor, calling him a bridge-builder who will usher in a better future for Ekiti and the PDP.
“The man you have come to honour, Bisi Kolawole, is our collective project. I made him my preferred candidate in the overall interest of our party, but this does not foreclose due process of nomination in PDP,” Fayose said.
