Ghana head coach Milovan Rajevac has been sacked as coach of the Black Stars of Ghana just four days after the country’s AFCON exit
The decision followed the Government’s intervention, through the Ministry of Youth and Sports, on Friday, January 21, 2022 which ordered FA to take swift action on the technical team.
“The Ministry made it clear to the GFA(Ghana Football Association) that the people of Ghana have lost confidence in the capacity of the current technical team of the Black Stars to deliver success,” the statement partly read.
“The Ministry, therefore, asked the GFA to review the work and capacity of the Black Stars’ technical team, led by the head coach, Milovan Rajevac.”
Ghana suffered a dismal tournament under the Serbian, taking only a single point from games against Morocco, Gabon and Comoros and finishing bottom of their group.
Rajevac was re-appointed for his second spell as Ghana boss in September 2021 and initially did well, successfully taking Ghana out of the second round of World Cup qualifying with a controversial win against South Africa.
