Bashir Ahmad, a presidential advisor, has stated that President Muhammadu Buhari’s efforts will be more acknowledged once his term ends in 2023.
President Buhari’s government, Ahmad stated in a Facebook post on Monday, has implemented reforms that will eventually pay off before the next president is elected.
President Buhari’s Personal Assistant on New Media declared that his boss has put the country on the correct road for the next president to succeed.
He wrote: “The motto that President Buhari has taken will not be seen in public now until after he leaves office. He has set this country on the right track that any incumbent leader should set. Some reform plans are inevitable, but eventually, they will pay off permanently.”
Ahmad’s declaration comes after President Buhari said in a recent interview that he wants Nigerians to agree with him that he has done his best when he leaves office in 2023.
The President stated that he does not expect any other form of gratitude from Nigerians.
Buhari emphasized that he has dedicated his youth in the service of the country, recalling that he has served as a governor, minister, military president, and two-term democratic president and that he has given his all in each post.
He had said: “I’ve given my best, and I hope after I leave, Nigerians will reflect. I’m not expecting any appreciation but what I’m expecting is for Nigerians to say this man has done his best. That’s what I’m expecting from Nigerians.”
