Rashidi Ladoja, a former Oyo State Governor and Osi Olubadan of Ibadan, has spoken out on Senator Lekan Balogun’s candidacy as the next Olubadan of Ibadanland.
Ladoja, 77, is the Olubadan-in-third Council’s in command.
He put his support behind the kingmakers’ decision.
This is in response to a letter submitted by Michael Lana, an Ibadan-born lawyer and former Commissioner for Justice.
Ladoja denied having anything to do with the letter.
The nomination of Dr Balogun as the future Olubadan of Ibadanland had been endorsed by ten members of the Olubadan-in-Council, but Ladoja was missing.
The kingmakers insisted that no legal action would prevent the next Olubadan from being appointed and installed.
He said this while receiving visitors at his Bodija home: “Uninformed people are just causing unnecessary tension in Ibadan.
“There is no controversy about who becomes the next Olubadan after the demise of Oba Saliu Adetunji Aje Ogunguniso 1”.
