President Muhammadu Buhari has highlighted one of his issues with Nigerians in the country’s south-eastern area.
One of the key problems, according to Buhari, who talked on Channels Television on Wednesday about pressing national issues, was the proposal for the creation of another state from the South-East region.
He added that some regional leaders came him and sought the creation of another state so that the region would have the same number of states as the other geographical regions.
However, according to reports, the President had given them the task of looking through the map to see how many of the existing nations would contribute to the new one.
“I have a problem with people from the South-East; they said they wanted another state, as each of the geopolitical zones has six states. I said, go and look at the map and see how many of the existing states will contribute to other states. That was the last I heard from them on the matter,” Buhari said.
