As a member of the opposition party whose state had never lose Gubernatorial election since 1999 up till now that it was opportune to clinch power at the apex level in 2015, Buni had demonstrated professionalism in attracting many of his serving Governors to dump their party for the APC.
Having started dwelling on national issues to widen my scope of writing career, i thought i have bid farewell on personality profile aspect, to avoid making my self irrelevant compared to those who focused on issues of public interest.
This is because of the technicalities involved in making it have a widely acceptance to entice the readers by persuading them not to have second thought on the subject of my discussion.
Nevertheless, the topic of today’s discourse which is on the sustained effort by chairman extraordinary convention planning committee of the APC Mai Malah Buni in trying to revive the loss glory of the ruling political party could also be seen as a matter of national interest since we all cannot compromise the reality of a democratic dispensation the country is into.
It is a well known fact, that whenever election approaches in Nigeria, machineries are put in place to capture the minds of oppositions by defecting to the party in power to join the politcal kingdom with all the requisite possibilities of winning the battle.
His Excellency Buni who doubled as the Governor of Yobe State has sticked to the assertion that says politics is a game of number by engaging in to a kind of courtship behaviour with all those that the party is in dire need of from both the strong opposition party PDP and the aggrieved members of the All Progressives Congress to achieve a common goal and be part of their winning team,come 2023.
Away from the party matters, Governor Mai Malah Buni was recently the first to order for the implementation of new retirement age of teachers to compliment President Buhari’s effort as a policy which many states will pretend not to effect it with their deaf ears just as that of the minimum wage is still suffering to become a reality in their respective states.

Among the sitting Governors that were motivated by the Buni lead APC extraordinary convention planning committee in joining the crusade were Ben Ayade of Cross Rivers, Dave Umahi of Ebonyi and Bello Matawalle of Zamfara state as well as former Minister of Aviation Chief Femi Fani Kayode, that was quoted to have said over his dead body to join the party which Buhari belongs to.
The way he headhunts opposition members in converting them to the APC doctrine is reminiscent of a predators search for its prey; unrelenting, unwavering and with laser focus.Thus,making his leadership style and qualities as expectional from his ancestors in the history of a rare political game in Nigeria.
