The 34-year-old former Super Eagles skipper has left the Brigadiers just four months after joining and without featuring in their Premier League.
Former Chelsea player John Obi Mikel is now a free agent after Al Kuwait SC terminated his contract on Thursday.
Mikel joined the club after a spell at Championship side, Stoke City. He had 12 months left on his contract with the Kuwait club having penned a one-year deal that was supposed to keep him at the club for the 2021-22 season.
The club took to their Instagram page to announce the termination writing, “Termination of the contract of the Nigerian John Obi Mikel.”
He spent most part of his career at Chelsea where he won several laurels including the Uefa Champions League, Uefa Europa League, the Premier League, FA Cup, and League Cup.
