A member of the House of Representatives and Chairman of the Committee on Finance, James Faleke, has said Bola Tinubu fought corruption with technology and native intelligence during his time as Lagos State Governor.
The lawmaker representing Ikeja Federal Constituency in the Green chamber stated that while Tinubu was in office, he ensured that the state treasury was not looted.
Faleke , who spoke during the inauguration of the support group, said, “The least sacrifice we can make is to let the whole country see the leadership we have seen, feel the compassion we have felt, and move the maker of modern Lagos to be the reformer of a greater Nigeria.
“My claim that Asiwaju Bola Tinubu is the maker of modern Lagos State is a truthful assertion. The landscape can tell the stories of its transformation from 1999 to 2007.”
“This is a man who left office in 2007 yet remains popular till today because he is focused, consistent and persistent,” he said.
“He has been the central figure in Nigerian politics.”
“Asiwaju fought corruption with technology and native intelligence in Lagos state, we are convinced that he has all it takes to lead us to further the journey to a greater Nigeria already embarked upon under the leadership of President Muhammadu Buhari and the APC.
“On behalf of the millions of supporters of Tinubu Support Group, we are calling on our national leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu to formally announce his presidential aspiration.”
In a related development, the coordinators of the Tinubu Support Organisation in the South-West have been chosen by delegates across the five states of the region.
The Director-General of the organisation, Alhaji Suleiman Aminu, represented by his Chief of Staff, Mr Abdulghaniyy Kareem, congratulated the state arrowheads and charged the new coordinators to adhere to the goals of the organisation.
The new coordinators are Lanre Sodipo (Ogun State), Otunba Olusegun Fanibe (Osun State), Ezekiel Omotosho (Ekiti State), Akin Akingbesote (Ondo State) and Ambali Abiodun (Oyo State).
The Lagos TSO coordinator, Mr Akinduro Ibesanmi, noted that the group’s mission was to accomplish the mandate of Asiwaju Tinubu in the 2023 elections.
An elder statesman from Ekiti State, Pa Olomola Jegede, encouraged coordinators to be steadfast pending Tinubu’s declaration to contest presidency in 2023.
The coordinators in their response however assured the organisation of their readiness to work and mobilise for the ex-governor of Lagos State.
