When you think about sex, penis fractures aren’t on your mind. When you have a’sex appointment’ with your spouse, you could have wild ideas about new sex positions or techniques you want to explore.
This is why Dr. Obotamah David, a medical doctor, has advised that getting too crazy under the sheets might be dangerous, especially for the man’s penis.
The medical practitioner told reporters that the sex positions that put men’s penises in danger are those that need the female to be on top.
This is because, according to David, when the woman is on top, there isn’t always adequate lubrication, making penetration harder.
“The fracture means a tear in the covering of the contractile part of the penis and the contractile tissue. So, when it occurs, there is a tear in the continuity of the erect penis which resembles a straight bone”
David also said “6 out of 7 cases of penile fracture occur as a result of penile manipulation, which sometimes involves different movements by the man and ranging from simple to complex waist circular motion, to the back and forth movement in and out of the vagina, just to achieve orgasm.
“Most times after a penile fracture, due to shame, patients don’t present themselves at the health facilities, leading to underreported data
“The force of the thrust can also lead to injury. When a woman is on top, she usually controls her movement with her entire body weight, which can also be dangerous if not done right.
Below are some of the dangerous sex positions the medical doctor warned couples to avoid or at the very least, treat with respect because they could break the man’s package.
Cowgirl
According to the medical expert, allowing your girlfriend to control the thrusting by having sex in the cowgirl position is something to avoid or be cautious of.
“If a woman is on top, you’ll notice that the penis will be curved as it makes its way in and out of the vagina, and this increases the chances of getting fractured and most times causes the man to bleed into the penis.”
Reverse Cowgirl
Couples who prefer the reverse cowgirl position should not believe they’ve gotten away because it’s even riskier than the first, according to David.
Women’s control over speed, power, and angle is what makes this posture the most dangerous. When you press too hard on the penis, it might bend and even break.
Dr. David, on the other hand, advised that in order to enjoy this position without problems, both partners must engage in extensive foreplay that results in sufficient lubrication, as well as be cautious of rigorous sex.
