Last week, 11 Anambra law makers comprising of five serving and four former House of Representatives members, and two Anambra House of Assembly members elected on the platforms of PDP and APGA left their parties and joined the All Progressive Congress (APC). A very well known female Senator from the state equally joined the APC from the PDP.
Before then, on September 1st, six (6) members of the Anambra State House of Assembly elected on the platform of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC)
These individuals left the PDP and the so called Igbo party – APGA – to join the APC, the so called Fulani party.
THEY DID THIS BECAUSE TO THEM, POLITICAL PARTY IS JUST A VEHICLE TO TAKE THEM TO THEIR POLITICAL DESTINATION. And unlike you, their followers and supporters, they understand that all Nigerian political parties are the same. No single difference at all. None. Even in terms of the herdsmen expansionist agenda, it is the Bauchi state governor, Muhammad Bala, a PDP governor who has openly defended the marauding herdsmen and even advocated that all Fulanis from any part of the world has a right to be accommodated in Nigeria and that they have a right to bear AK-47. He said all these on Channels Television. And he is a PDP governor. Our own Obiano is from our APGA, so called Igbo party, yet, he was the first, through his information commissioner to openly say his state has a conflict-resolution committee between herders and farmers and currently has no issues between the two groups and as such, does not need any Anti-Open Grazing law after the Southern Governors resolved to pass the law in their state. Although the house of assembly would later counter him by introducing the bill. He is the only Igbo governor who didn’t bother sending any representative to the last Southern Governors Forum meeting held in Enugwu.
And these politicians don’t even rate you which is why they have you cursing out APC as a Fulani almajiri party today only for them to join that same APC and you still follow them like ewu Gambia to the same APC where you suddenly start defending the same APC you’ve spent your entire life throwing curses at. I hate to be the one to tell you but some of you are no better than FFK.
In the Anambra gubernatorial poll slated for next month, all these ‘decampees’ will work both severally (that is individually) and collectively to ensure victory for their new party the APC. If it is vote mobilization, they are the ones that will do it. If it is rigging, na dem go do the rigging.
But in the end, an average Igbo youth will ignore these Igbo politicians to accuse the Fulani and Buhari of ‘stealing’ Anambra state.
We need radical re-orientation in the southeast.
