Godwin Obaseki, the governor of Edo State, has approved promotions for civil and public servants in the state in 2021.
The approval was revealed in a letter written by Mrs F.A.O Edwards, Permanent Secretary, Directorate of Establishment, Training, and Manpower Services, on behalf of the Edo State Head of Service, Anthony Okungbowa, on September 28, 2021.
She said that the decision is in keeping with the government’s commitment to workers’ welfare in order to boost efficiency, productivity, and service delivery.
The letter, with the reference number TM.701/VOL.11/101, instructed all Ministries and Extra-Ministerial Departments to send the list of all qualified officers on grade levels 07 to 16 who are expected to be promoted in the year 2021 to the Head of Service’s office for action.
The government also ordered that the officers’ names, ranks, grade levels, dates of birth, confirmation, current appointment, and retirement be given to the Head of Service’s office.
The circular, which is directed to be treated as extremely urgent, was sent to the Office of the Secretary to the State Government, Head of Service, All Honourable Commissioners, Permanent Secretaries, and All Heads of Extra Ministerial Departments.
