The Alaiyeluwa Oba (Dr) Sulaimon Adeshina Raji-Ashade, Oniba of the Kingdom of Iba welcomed Her Excellency Dr. (Ms.) Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, wife of the Governor of Lagos State, who was ably represented by the President, Iba LCDA, Ms. Abimbola Folashade Yisa at Community Advocacy for Combating Sexual and gender violence in the kingdom of Iba and the federal constituency of Ojo on Wednesday, September 15, 2021 at the Community town hall, Iba.
HRM (Dr) Sulaimon Adeshina addressed the Attendees to educate others to end sexual abuse and domestic violence in the family, school and the community at large. We don’t want domestic violence in Lagos State and Nigeria as a whole, he added, then declared the program open.
During the program, some of Oniba’s achievement ever since he ascended the throne was listed, achievements like:
* Building of Public Health Centre
* Building of Magistrate Court
Building of Information and Communication Technology Centre (ICT)
* Procurement of land for Iba College
* Procurement of land for abattoir/market
* Distribution of Exercise books to Primary Schools in Iba and
* Distribution of motorcycle and tricycle to people.
At the occasion, there was also the Executive President, Iba LCDA, Hon. Yisa Abiola Jubril who in her welcoming speech addressed her greetings to Oniba of the Kingdom of Iba, HRM (Dr) Sulaimon Adeshina and others. She thanked Almighty God and prayed for King Adeshina for protection and guidance from God. Ms. Jubril recommends that everyone listen carefully to what they have to say about domestic violence.
During the meeting, Ms. Ibidunni Alakija, Federal District of Ojo, spoke about the topic where she used the acronyms PENS to explain the topic.He said domestic violence can take the form of physical assault, emotional issues, child / female neglect and sexual abuse.
