There are indications that Lagos State will soon get access to the nine-point-six three-nine billion naira from the Development of Natural Resources Fund, DNRF.
This is because members of the Fiscal Efficiency and Budget Committee of the
Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission, RMAFC have concluded an assessment and verification of the State needs.
Former Bornu State Deputy Governor, Alhaji Adamu Dibal who led other members on a courtesy call to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu in Alausa Ikeja said the Committee was pleased with what it has seen so far and a report would be made to the RMAFC and onward to the President.
While thanking members of the Committee, Governor Sanwo-Olu promised that the fund would be judiciously utilised.
The Lagos State Government had in March this year, requested to access the fund for economic diversification for sustainable development in three priority area: Tourism, Agriculture, Solid Minerals and Energy development with the aim to create employment opportunities, attract foreign direct investment, generate revenue and create enabling environment for robust private sector investment.
