Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has presented a budget of 1.5 trillion naira for Lagos State for 2021 to the State Assembly.
Presenting the budget, the Governor said the appropriation bill tagged, “Budget of Rekindled Hope” would seek to address the yearnings of the people of the State following the outbreak of Covid-19 and the #EndSARS protest which was hijacked.
He said the Government would continue to invest massively in critical infrastructure in the State, as well as focused on youth employment and security.
Governor Sanwo-Olu said as part of measures to save money for the State, he would send an executive bill to repeal the law that gives pension, houses, and other entitlements to former Governors and their deputies.

He repeated the call for a special status for Lagos State given the State’s population and contribution to the national economy.
The Governor said an executive bill to ensure the rebuilding of the State would soon be presented to the Assembly.
