Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has congratulated his Ondo State counterpart, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu on his victory in last Saturday’s Gubernatorial election in the State, pointing out that it was well deserved.
Governor Sanwo-Olu, who served as the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress National Campaign Council for Ondo State Governorship election, described Governor Akeredolu’s success in the election as a validation of people’s acceptance of his administration, having impacted positively in their lives during his first term in office.
Governor Sanwo-Olu who had expressed his opinion at the Akeredolu’s residence in Owo, Ondo State shortly after the Independent National Electoral Commission declared Arakunrin Akeredolu and his running mate Mr. Lucky Aiyedatiwa as Governor-elect and Deputy Governor-elect also re-echoed the same sentiment in Lagos saying that the people of Ondo State deserved commendation for coming out in large numbers to perform their civic responsibility and for defying all odds to vote for APC-led administration in the State.
He also thanked President Muhammadu Buhari for creating a level playing ground for the conduct of the election, adding that the President deserved commendation for deepening democracy and electoral process in Nigeria, considering the success recorded in the Ondo Governorship election as well as last month’s Gubernatorial poll in Edo State.
