Parents and guardians have been charged to allow their children and wards to use their digital telephone, computer system and other devices but with a guide to enable the children to perform excellently in any given Computer Based Exam.
The Lagos State Commissioner for Education Mrs Folashade Adefioye gave the charge at the Flag-Off Ceremony of the on-going Computer Based Testing (CTB) version of the Year 2020 Screening Test for the admission into Lagos State Model Colleges and Upgraded Junior Secondary Schools held at Lagos State Examinations Board, Iyana Ipaja.
The Commissioner represented by the Permanent Secretary, Lagos State Ministry of Education, Mrs Abosede Adelaja explained that Lagos State remained the first State in Nigeria and West African where pupils are been examined through the Computer Based Testing, to prepare the students towards global standard.
Mrs Adejala who said the maiden edition of CTB in Year 2015, just seventeen pupils opted for CTB while over two hundreds pupils are writing the 2020 CTB Version, maintained that technology has come to stay in Primary Exam just like JAMB because the system is very fast and efficient.
The Educationalist said Lagos State Government will not relent in making sure the State remains the center of excellent in all aspects, thus, appeals to Education stakeholders, parents and guardians to collaborate with Government to give the best to the students who are future leaders.
Contributing, the Director, Lagos State Examnination Board, Mr Supo Gbadegeshi expressed his joy for the support from the State Government and other stakeholders, advised the pupils to be of good behavior in their new schools.
