For ease of operations, the Managament of the Lagos State Waterways Authority, LASWA, is collaborating with Ibile Oil and Gas, to locate a fuel station on the waterway.
This is to serve the yearnings of Boats and Ferries operators in their ability to readily obtain fuel supply while en- route their destinations.
In a Release signed by the Management of LASWA, the fuel station project, is aimed at boosting water transport, by easy access to supply and for safety purpose.
The release says the facility is in collaboration with one of the leading Company in the Downstream Sector, which will also dispense the product at the official pupmp price.
Meanwhile, the Managing Director, of LASWA, Mr Damilola Emmanuel, says the establishment of the fuel station at the Agency’s Head office, is aimed at enhancing safety culture on the waterways and
noted that the launching of the station will also eradicate the unwholesome habit of using gallons and kegs to procure fuel by the Boats and Ferries Operators.
According to Mr Emmanuel, the collaboration, is very key, as the economy suffers from acute lack of resources, agencies need to pool resources together to achieve more.
Similar facility,is being planned for Ikorodu, Ojo and other ferry stations, to ensure improvement in fuel infrastructure and waterways transportation in the State.
