One of the most frustrating things any mobile user in Nigeria can experience is the constant alert of “Low Battery”.
Well, carrying a power bank around can help mitigate this, but what if there was a way to prevent it in the first place?
Here are some suggestions for extending the life of your phone’s battery:
Reduce/Sleep background Applications
Background apps consume battery life. Always use sleeping apps that aren’t in use. To perform this action, go to your phone’s settings. Some applications, such as the Chrome browser, are not expected to run in the background. It’s understandable that you’d want to stay up to date on the latest messages on WhatsApp.
Use 2G If Possible
This is amusing, especially as the world moves closer to 5G broadband. Switch to 2G or 3G when you’re in an area with a good cellular network and you’re not doing anything that requires a strong internet connection on your phone. It extends the life of the phone’s battery.
To put things in perspective, WhatsApp messaging can be done effectively over a 2G/3G broadband connection. If you need to perform actions like YouTube streaming, however, don’t try this. It is recommended to use 4G because it processes data faster and saves time and battery life when compared to 3G.
Get A Smaller Phone
Another battery-draining feature on smartphones is the phone call. Get a smaller phone to relieve the strain on your main device, which can then be used for all internet-related activities.
Don’t Use While Charging
Forget about your fear of being electrocuted (which is debatable anyway). Using your phone while charging causes the battery to overheat, which can affect the recharge cycle and, ultimately, the battery life span.
Manage Your Connectivity
Mobile data is the most energy-intensive form of connectivity on a phone. WiFi uses less data, while Bluetooth uses more but not as much as mobile data. Always turn off all/any connectivity when it is not in use to save your battery.
Avoid Weak WiFi Connection
The weaker the WiFi connection, the more battery power your phone is likely to use to maintain the connection. A stronger WiFi signal will allow your phone to load content faster, whereas a weak signal will not. You could end up consuming more battery than data. WiFi, on the other hand, will always use less battery power than a 4G connection.

I mean %BLOG_TITLE% is a little plain. You might peek at Yahoo’s home page and watch how they createwrite post headlines to get viewers interested. You might add a video or a related picture or two to get readers interested about what you’ve written. Just my opinion, it might bring your postsblog a little livelier.
