Following his terrible death in a helicopter crash in the United States earlier this month, the family of the late Herbert Wigwe, the former Group Chief Executive Officer of Access Holdings Plc, has revealed the itinerary for both his and his family members’ funerals.
Wigwe was killed in the disaster together with his wife, Chizoba, son, Chizi, and former group chairman of the Nigerian Exchange Group Plc (NGX Group), Abimbola Ogunbanjo. All of the victims were pronounced dead shortly after the crash.

This occasion will pay tribute to Herbert Wigwe’s career accomplishments and legacy as a leading player in the Nigerian banking industry.
On March 10, at the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Lion of Judah Parish in Isiokpo, Ikwerre LGA, Rivers State, an outdoor service will mark the conclusion of the funeral ceremonies.
March 5 at the Eko Hotel in Lagos is the day of the ceremony for Chizi and Chizoba Wigwe, when their lives will be honoured in separate monuments.
The next day, at the same location, there will be a tribute night where friends, family, and coworkers can pay their condolences and memories to one another.
March 7 at the RCCG, Resurrection Parish in Lekki is set aside for a joint singing service. On March 8, Wigwe University, situated in Isiokpo, Ikwerre LGA, Rivers, will host a Christian wake-keeping event.
