Inmates believed to be herdsmen have escaped from the Jos Correctional Centre. The inmates escaped on Thursday, July 8, 2021 as officials make frantic efforts to apprehend them.
The escapees were herdsmen arraigned before a Barkin Ladi Court sometimes in 2020 but herdsmen stormed the Court and overpowered correctional warders before five of them escaped.
Men of Operation Safe Haven rearrested them and handed over to the Correctional centre until this recent incident where they successfully escaped from custody.
The correctional centre spokesman, Geoffrey Longdien confirmed it saying “four inmates of the correctional centre escaped at the early hours of Thursday at the centre.
