President Muhammadu Buhari’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, has lambasted the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, over recent statements on the country’s state.
The main opposition party has warned that the October 2020 tragedy will recur if nothing is done as soon as possible.
Adesina, on the other hand, lambasted the PDP for predicting a “nationwide agitation” worse than the #EndSARS protests in October 2020 in a statement released on Tuesday.
According to Adesina, if the PDP does not win the presidential election in 2023, it will perish and be unable to withstand the pressure, just as one of the party’s leaders foretold.
The PDP announcement came less than 24 hours after the Department of State Services (DSS) claimed that certain governors were scheming to subvert democracy in the country, according to Adesina.
The presidential adviser was perplexed as to how a patriotic political party could threaten the country with anarchy, social instability, and disorder.
This, according to Adesina, could be due to the fact that the main opposition party was still reeling from the effects of being ousted from power in 2015.
