Deji Adeyanju, a sociopolitical analyst, has explained why he wants Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike to defect from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and join the All Progressives Congress (APC).
According to InsightnaijaTV, Wike’s defeat in the PDP presidential primary is thought to have caused a rift between him and the party’s leadership.
The difference has become even wider since Delta State Governor Ifeanyi Okowa became the PDP’s vice presidential nominee.
Prior to the 2023 elections, there have been demands for and attempts at reconciliation, particularly between Wike and the PDP’s Atiku Abubakar, although it is known that these efforts have not been successful thus far.
This has led to rumors that the governor of Rivers may leave the PDP and stop supporting Abubakar in his bid to become Nigeria’s next president.
Adeyanju stated in a tweet sent on Wednesday via his Twitter account that he wanted Wike to join the APC in order to witness their argument and drama with Rotimi Amaechi, the former minister of transportation.\
He wrote: “Deep down, I want to see Wike go to APC. I just want to watch the fight and drama, especially between him and Amaechi. I love to see politicians fight. Peace is not an option.”
