Victor Umeh, a leader of the Labour Party, claims that the All Progressives Congress and the People’s Democratic Party are in a panic at the party’s rising popularity across the nation.
Some APC and PDP members, according to the Labour Party’s senatorial candidate in Anambra State, will support Peter Obi.
“It’s not a matter of where you now belong. I am aware that some PDP members would cast their ballots for the Labour Party. I am aware that some APC members would cast their ballots for the Labour Party. People don’t think that the effort of saving Nigeria can be accomplished outside of this forum, Umeh stated on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily breakfast programme on Wednesday.
At the Labour Party’s National Retreat on Monday in Abuja, the National President of the Nigerian Labor Congress, Ayuba Wabba, declared that the union and its affiliates would mobilise 12 million votes for Obi in the upcoming presidential election.

Umeh stated in a statement on Wednesday that the NLC can help Obi win votes since “it is an organised organisation” and unionists are also suffering.
The people are with the party, according to Umeh, a former national chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance who joined the Labour Party in June.
“The people are with the (Labour) Party. Look at things going on in Nigeria across the states of the Federation. If you say that the Labour Party is weak in some areas, they spring up a surprise…What is the power of the Labour Party now are the people,” he said.
He added that the Labour Party has continued to outnumber its rivals despite claims about imaginary organisations.
“Those from the opposing parties are currently in a frenzy. At first, they were stating vaguely that the party is nothing. Their nightmare right now is the Labour Party. Why did that occur? Does the Labour Party exchange funds? The senate candidate claimed that the Labour Party did not share funds.
Umeh stated that “He (Obi) has been consulting” when asked how the Labour Party presidential candidate plans to win over northerners. Mr. Peter Obi is one of the presidential contenders who travels the most, visiting people and consulting all regions of the nation.
